Zusammenfassung
Das Growing Teratoma Syndrome kennzeichnet einen in letzter Zeit wiederholt aufgetretenen
Krankheitsverlauf eines metastasierten nichtseminomatösen Keimzelltumors. Hierbei
wächst unter der Gabe einer Polychemotherapie die Metastase, obwohl die vor Beginn
der Zytostase erhöhten Tumormarker stark rückläufig sind. Die Histologie der resezierten
Metastase zeigt nach Resektion dann lediglich ein reifes Teratom. Vorgestellt werden
zwei Fälle aus unserer Klinik.
Abstract
The growing teratoma syndrome represents a form of metastasizing non-seminomatous
germ-cell tumor that has been seen repeatedly in the last few years. During the application
of a multi-drug chemotherapy the metastasis continues to grow, although the tumor
markers, which were elevated before giving the cytotoxic agents, show strongly decreasing
levels. The histology of the resected metastasis reveals mature teratoma only. Two
cases from our clinic are presented.
